Abstract

1279405 Laminates TRANSTEC ENG CO Ltd 27 June 1969 [29 June 1968] 31206/68 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions B7 and E1] A weatherproof closure member comprises a sandwich 2 having outer layers 4, 6 of sheet metal with a cellular filling 8 of metal bonded to the outer layers by an adhesive. Edging 10 includes a first channel 12 gripping the edges of the sandwich and a second channel 14 at right-angles to channel 12. Sealing strip 16 in the second channel provides a seal between the closure member and its surround. In the embodiment described the filling is of aluminium or aluminium foil in the form of a honeycomb matrix and the outer sheets are of aluminium or aluminium alloy sheet.
