Abstract

1279232 Composite containers; load handling TANKS & DRUMS Ltd 26 June 1969 [26 March 1968 22 Oct 1968] 14411/68 and 50053/68 Headings B8H and B8P A composite container for bulk liquids or powders comprises one-piece seamless inner plastics containers 37 preformed by a blowmoulding or casting process to the shape of a rectangular prism and a protective outer container 30 formed from multi-ply corrugated cardboard, plywood, or hardboard. The inner container may incline towards a draw-off valve 43, and may be separated from the outer container 30 by shock-absorbing plastics material such as polyurethane 38. Closable filling and cleaning openings are provided in the inner container. The edges of the inner container may be chamfered (Fig. 1) to fit against corresponding battens (7, 9, Fig. 2) to allow container stacking. Pallet battens 32 may be provided and may have deck boards 33 secured to the underneath thereof.
