Abstract

1278640 Diazotype materials RICOH K K 17 Dec 1969 [9 Jan 1969] 61599/69 Heading G2C A two-component diazotype material comprises a support coated with a layer containing a diazonium compound, a monohydric phenol as a first coupler to give yellow dye images and as a second coupler a compound of formula: where X is H or an alkali metal, R is hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, -(CH 2 ) n NÀR 1 R 2 or -(CH 2 ) n R 3 ; n is 2 to 8, R 1 and R 2 are alkyl or hydroxyalkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R 3 is cyclohexyl, morpholinyl, thiomorpholinyl, pyrrolidinyl, piperidinyl, and N-(methyl or #-hydroxyethyl)-piperazinyl. Preferred phenolic couplers are hydroxyphenylureas; m, m<SP>1</SP>-alkylene-dioxydiphenols, m-acetamido-phenol, m-(hydroxyethyl) phenol and 2-(diethylaminomethyl)-3, 6-dimethyl phenol. The light-sensitive layer may contain a cellulose ester binder and may be coated on a support subbed with a layer containing silica, urea-formaldehyde resin and vinyl acetate/ crotonic acid copolymer.
