Abstract

1278437 Tape dispensers SEKISUI ADOHEYA KOGYO K K 6 Oct 1969 [10 Oct 1968 14 March 1969] 48971/69 Heading A4G [Also in Division B4] A tape cutter for cutting e.g. adhesive tapes, comprises a pair of blades arranged in V-formation so that a tape A can be drawn over a supporting edge portion 9 and then across the cutting edges 4 to sever the tape, the blades being bent along a circle having its center at the tapesupporting edge portion. In the embodiment shown in Figs.5 and 7 razor blades 40 are held between plates 41 and a V-shaped support 38 which is secured to a base 21. A holder 22 for a reel of tape is provided on the base and includes a pair of arcuate plates 28, 29, the plate 29 being formed with an edge 31 for retaining the reel under the action of spring 30. The tape is drawn from the reel and passed around a guide roller 23, then through a slot 26 in a plate 25; an annular projection 24 on the roller and the slot 26 causes the tape to be folded over with the adhesive surface facing outwardly. The free end of the tape is then pulled over the edge of the plate 25 and on to the blades in order to sever a portion. The base is formed with portions 42 through which a band may be attached, the band being fitted around the wrist of the user; a hard grip 43 is also provided.
