Abstract
1,256,441. Tape dispenser. S. G. DURRANT and J. W. WHITEHEAD. Jan. 6, 1970, No.558/70. Heading A4G. An adhesive tape dispenser comprises a casing 4, Fig. 1, supporting a tape roll 1 on telescoping cylinders 2, 3 and two platforms 7 in the form of rollers perpendicular to the tape pulled off with a gap housing a cutter 8 on which the tape, adhering to the platforms, is cut by being depressed into the gap by a slit pad 12 on a manually rotatable arm 5. The cutter may be on the arm and the pad in the gap. In Fig.8 the flat platforms 19 form part of the casing and a sloping cutter 21 carried on a slide 22, 23 cuts the tape as it is pressed into the gap transversely to the tape length. The cutter may be a manually pivoted scythe-like cutter. In further embodiments a block or a roller on a swinging arm with an edge similar to pad 12, Fig. 1 and pivoted transversely to the tape from the side of the platform part of the casing, presses the tape on to a cutter between the platforms.
