1277725 Electric selective signalling MAATSCHAPPIJ VAN BERKEL'S PATENT NV 15 June 1970 [18 Nov 1969] 28826/70 Heading G4H [Also in Division B8] In a system in which goods are weighed and packaged data relating to the goods is recorded on the packaging material before the goods are wrapped. As described unwrapped articles 5 are carried on conveyer 4 to a weighing machine 1 linked to a calculator 9 which, with the unit price set up on keyboard 15 computes the total price, a printer 2 printing the total price, the unit price and weight on packaging foil 23 or on labels attached to the packaging material. The weighed goods are then put in preformed containers 6 (formed by vacuum drawing a plastics strip 7 into the required shape) to which the packaging foil is attached in a unit 10. The printing may be in the form of visually readable characters or colour coding. Alternatively magnetic coding may be used. Instead of the preformed containers plastics or cardboard containers may be used.
