1276572 Ground protection PILSA PATENTS INVESTMENTS & LICENSES SA 13 June 1969 30020/69 Heading E1H An embankment 2 of a watercourse is protected by flexible envelopes 4a to 4l made of e.g. nylon fabric, and filled with a settable material through hoses 4, a common partition 7 between mutually-adjacent envelopes being rendered convex as indicated in Fig. 2 by first filling alternate envelopes only and allowing the material therein to harden before filling the other envelopes. The convex configuration of the partitions 7 is intended to obviate displacement of the filled envelopes relative to each other in a direction normal to the embankment, and to prevent longitudinal displacement the partition may be rendered sinuous. The envelopes are anchored in a trench 5 above the free-surface of the water. The opposite walls of the envelopes are joined together over areas 8.
