127,648. Dawson, Sir A. T., and Buckham, Sir G. T. May 10, 1917. Mountings for use on aircraft.-Consists in the combination of (1) a fixed ring A supported at a substantial distance above the framework F of an aircraft, (2) a carriage rotatably mounted on the fixed ring and composed of two longitudinal girders B resting at both end on the upper surface of the ring and provided with clips B<1> which, by contact with the ring, prevent the carriage from lifting when the gun is fired, and (3) a gunner's seat b<2> suspended from the carriage and situated between the ring and its supporting-framework. The carriage is trained by means of spur and worm gears c<4>, c<2> and hand-wheel C; and the gun is elevated by means of a sector D through a worm pinion and bevel-gear worked by a handwheel D'.
