Abstract

127,605. Davidson, S. C. April 27, 1917. Pyrotechnic devices. -Consists mainly in making flare-light projectiles with an air space g<1>, g<2> between the flare-light charge e and the time-fuse d<1>, which is ignited at the base by the propellant cartridge c, and transmits ignition to the charge e by means of meal powder j. The space l above the meal powder may be empty or fitted with loose flare-light powder. The top closure h is blown off at the time the flare-light is ignited; and, to ensure that this end shall remain at the top when the projectile falls to the ground, the centre of gravity is disposed nearer the base b. This projectile may be discharged from the mortar described in Specification 13510/15. Specifications 17802/15 and 126,057 are referred to in the Provisional Specification.
