Abstract

1276040 Papermaking A AHLSTROM OSAKEYHTIO 10 June 1970 [23 June 1969] 28238/70 Heading D2A A paper machine head box comprises a bottom plate 4, a front wall mounted at an acute angle thereto, and movable parallel and perpendicular thereto to form a slice opening at the apex of the acute angle, and a mixing roller 2 spaced from the opening, the axis of rotation being pivoted about an axis fixed in relation to the front wall, the axis of rotation also being guided for movement parallel to the bottom plate, the front wall having a convex curved portion adjacent the mixing roller, the centre of curvature of this portion being at the axis fixed in relation to the front wall. This arrangement ensures that the mixing roller is always the same distance from the front and bottom walls.
