Abstract

1275907 Hydraulic presses EX-PRESS PLASTICS Ltd 9 June 1969 [19 Nov 1968] 54927/68 Headings B5A and B5F A press assembly comprises a plurality of press units (only one unit shown in Fig. 3) operable in synchronism, each press unit comprising a first press member 14 connected or connectable to a second press member 10 by a plurality of doubleacting fluid actuators 12a, 12b arranged in a balanced formation on two opposite sides of the unit, the units being arranged side by side with the actuators in two rows and the fluid pressure for pressing being applied to the smaller area annular portions of the pistons of the actuators 12a, 12b. In Fig. 3 the actuator cylinders are mounted on the movable press member 14, while in Fig. 2 (not shown) they are mounted on the lower fixed press member. The press assembly may be used for hot- or cold-moulding reinforced plastics. The example shown in Figs. 4 to 6 (not shown) is described and claimed in Specification 1,275,908.
