1275897 Fuel reservoir for gas lighters FLAMINAIRE MARCEL QUERCIA 30 Nov 1970 [2 Dec 1969] 56735/70 Heading F4F A fuel reservoir for a gas lighter in which the fuel is stored in cavity 1 in its liquid phase comprises an assembly constituted by a regulating device, with conical part 3a surrounded by porous washer 5 and co-operating orifice 4a, and an axial control member 7, which assembly is shielded by a tubular element 2 with at least one orifice 6 for the passage of fuel, and an outer absorbent sheath 8 or capillary tube defined by an annular channel, surrounding the tubular element at the level of orifice 6 and extending to the bottom of the cavity, the reservoir thus ensuring a uniform supply of fuel. The absorbent sheath 8 is preferably constituted by a porous material such as cotton, felt, open celled plastic foam, or porous ceramic, or by a material such as glass fibre or woven glass fibre through which fuel may flow through capillarity, the sheath thus acting as a filter. An impermeate liquid-tight bushing 9 may surround the sheath 8 leaving only an absorption surface S in contact with the fuel in the cavity 1, and in this case the sheath 8 may be omitted to leave an annular channel between bushing 9 and element 2 for the passage of fuel under capillarity.
