Abstract

1275391 Aerials MARCONI CO Ltd 28 Aug 1970 [29 Jan 1970] 4259/70 Heading H4A A wide band substantially omni-directional H.F. aerial system comprises a pair of dipoles which are in mutually perpendicular planes, and which each consist of two respective coplanar half dipoles (D1, D2), (SD1, SD2) sloping downwardly and outwardly from a common upper centre. A feeder, such as a twin wire line F, is connected to the upper ends of the half dipoles D1, D2, and the lower ends of said half dipoles are respectively connected to the lower ends of the half dipoles SD1, SC2 by lines CF1, CF2, which are substantially non-radiating, and which may be screened cables. The feeder F may be run up a vertical supporting mast, insulators I being interposed between the outer ends of the half dipoles and the ground.
