1275235 Producing sodium hypochlorite electrolytically ENGELHARD MINERALS & CHEMICALS CORP 14 July 1970 34207/70 Heading C7B Apparatus for producing and dispensing NaOCI comprises an inlet conduit 1 e.g. a hose communicable with a source of NaCI electrolyte e.g. sea water 2 and a flexible tubular housing 4 e.g. a hose with a nozzle at its end, a coupling section 5 inter-connecting ends 6, 7 of the conduit and housing, a pair of elongated electrodes 8, 9 extending into the housing and closely spaced from each other by insulation, e.g. a braided or perforated resin sleeve, having adjacent ends 10, 11 mounted in the coupling section connected to electrical conductors 30, 31, whereby NaOCl is generated from the NaCl electrolyte passed through the housing by a pump P associated with the conduit.
