A compressed gas storage bottle containing a mixture of gaseous oxygen and nitrous oxide which latter condenses at low storage temperature e.g. -20‹ C. and collects at the bottom has a standpipe 5 extending downwards from a discharge valve 2 to below the condensate level and serves to maintain above a predetermined value, say 20% the oxygen content of the discharge at normal temperatures.
