127,462. Cram, T. B., and Ferguson Furnace Co. Aug. 13, 1918. Charges, conveying. - Goods are conveyed through a furnace by supports 9 projecting through slots in the floor and operated by eccentrics at both ends so as to lift the goods and carry them forward step by step, the supports being contained in chambers beneath the slots which are open at both ends to the atmosphere so as to permit the circulation of air for cooling the supports. The portions of the supports passing through the slots are preferably constructed of refractory material. To give a more continuous movement, two supports, moving in opposite phase, may project through each slot. The shafts of the eccentrics may be geared together by a chain and sprocketwheels.
