Abstract

1,274,571. Phenothiazines. ABBOTT LABORATORIES. 6 July, 1970 [7 July, 1969], No. 32732/70. Heading C2C. Compounds of the formula wherein R is CF 3 , Cl or OCH 3 and its non-toxic addition salts are prepared by reacting a 2-substituted-phenothiazine with 1-cyclopropyl-4- (3 - chloropropyl) homopiperazine, in turn prepared from glyconitrile through cyclopropylaminoacetonitrile. N - (# - carbomethoxyethyl)- cyclopropylaminoacetonitrile, N - cyclopropyl-5- ketohomopiperazine, and N - cyclopropyl-homopiperazine. Pharmaceutical compositions useful as tranquillizers without sedative action comprise compounds (I) and a carrier. The compositions are in forms suitable for oral or parenteral administration.
