Apparatus for kneading mixed and ryebread doughs comprises a bowl 1, and upper and lower blades 7, 8 fixed to a rotatable shaft 4 and angularly displaced relatively to one another, upper blade 7 being longer than lower blade 8. There may be more than two blades. The blades may be inclined to the horizontal and to the direction of rotation.
