1,273,944. Cigarettes; tobacco compositions. AMERICAN SAFETY EQUIPMENT CORP. 19 April, 1971 [16 March, 1970], No. 24144/71. Heading A2C. [Also in Division D2] A cigarette, to the paper of which 0.1% to 1.0% by weight (based on the combined weight of the paper and the tobacco) of ammonium sulphamate has been added, is stored at a relative humidity of from 65% to 75% and at a temperature of from 60‹F to 80‹F until at least 50% (preferably 75%) of the ammonium ions have migrated from the paper into the tobacco. By the use of these storage conditions, the storage time required to effect the required migration is considerably less than that required when similarly treated cigarettes are stored as described in Specification 1,193,554.
