Abstract

1,273,689. Production of cyclohexanol. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. 4 June, 1970 [4 June, 1969], No. 27095/70. Heading C2C. A process for the production of cyclohexanol comprises epoxidizing a cyclic olefin containing 1, 2, or 3 double bonds and 12 carbon atoms in a ring by reacting it with cyclohexyl hydroperoxide in the presence of an epoxidation catalyst, and separating cyclohexanol thus produced from the reaction mixture.
