Abstract
127,349. Maison BrÚguet, and Routin, J. L. Aug. 9, 1916, [Convention date]. Addition to 127,280. Speed indicators operating by sighting aerial objects. - Consists in modifying the graphical apparatus of the anti-aircraft gunnery apparatus described in the parent Specification to t a k e account of the changes in the angular speed of the target during tha time of flight of the projectile, the time of flight t2 being replaced by a fictitious time t<1>2 obtained by the formula:- where D0, D1, and D2 are the distances of the target at the times t = o, t = t1 and t = t, + t2. The time t<1>2 is graphically determined by adding to the graphical apparatus two lines as, ac, formed for instance by elastic strings, the geometric construction being such that hg represents the time t<1>2. The product t<1>2 dw/dt is obtained by using a magnetic speed indicator as described in Specification 127,292, comprising a magneto N, a resistance P and a voltmeter V. The resistance is arranged vertically with its bottom end opposite the horizontal through a, the contact R is moved until it is opposite the point g, and the volt meter then gives the desired product. The fuse times are directly read at a point vertically above c on a cylinder XY rotated for angle of site.
