Prism systems ; reflector systems .-Light-dividing means, shown in Fig. 1 as placed behind a photographic objective L, and as comprising a system of prisms having a partly transparent and partly reflecting surface G, has the dividing-surface formed with distinct areas of reflection and of .transmission arranged and adapted to prevent the formation of cumulative diffraction spectra, An example is shown in Fig. 3, with the transmitting and reflecting parts r, a respectively. The joint boundaries may be in a number of different distinct directions, and the two sets of areas may have their respective members different in shape or size, or both. The areas may be polygonal and angularly distributed with respect to each other. Specification 10617/97 is referred to.
