Abstract

1,272,868. Treating printing plates. KALLE A.G. Dec. 23, 1969 [Dec. 30, 1968], No. 62610/69. Heading G2M. A material for removing unwanted printing areas of printing plates (and any ink thereon), e.g. for corrective purposes, comprises: (a) 20 to 60% by weight of glycol, polyglycol, glycol ether or polyglycol ether or a mixture of any thereof, (b) 10 to 50% by weight of a neutral organic solvent other than any of (a), (c) 3 to 25% by weight water, (d) 0À5 to 15% by weight acid or substance having an acid reaction in aqueous solution, (e) 5 to 25% by weight of thickening agent different from components (a) to (d); (a), (b) and (c) being completely miscible. Preferably (a) is triethylene glycol, (b) is methyl ethyl ketone and (e) is silica. Other suitable substances are named.
