Abstract

127,216. Adams, F. J., and Bridge, W. E., (trading as Security Manufacturing Co.). Jan. 30, 1919. Handcuffs &c., of the type comprising two bow members connected by a short length of chain and having locking-members hinged to the bows, are made from hot stampings, drop-forgings, or malleable or steel castings with the chain attachment stud 2 and the hinge member 4 integral with the bow 1. When made from drop-forgings or hot stampings, upper and lower tools 6 are employed, each having a recess 11 corresponding to one half of the bow and being provided with projections 7, 8 for piercing the stud-hole and hinge-hole respectively.
