127,195. Meersch, A. E. M. van der. Nov. 27, 1918. Razors, safety. The edges of a thin blade b, Fig. 6, are protected by rollers c. which are mounted between flanges formed integrally with a guard-plate or frame c. A removable scavenger plate f formed with slots f<1> may be arranged to bear against the rollers e. The spindles of the rollers may engage open-ended slots c<2>, Fig. 3, in the flanges of the frame c, a pivoted locking- plate h formed with slots h<2> being provided to hold the rollers in place. In another arrangement, the spindles e<1>, Fig. 5, of the rollers are held in open slots c' in the flanges of the frame c by a springy wire loop i. A springy corrugated plate may be arranged between the blade b, Fig. 6. and the frame c. The rollers e or any other part of the razor, such as the backing-plate a, may be made of vulcanized fibre, glass, porcelain, celluloid, or other non-metallic material.
