Oct. 7, 1918, Slide - rules.- Friction between the slide and the body in slide - rules having a back a formed of celluloid or other thin material is porduced by curved blade springs b which are pressed flat on to the ends of the rule and secured in position by pins or screws, the tension in the springs tending to bend the back and force the body on to the slide.
