Abstract

1,271,615. Oxidation catalyst - adsorption agents. BERGWERKSVERBAND G.m.b.H. 22 April, 1970, No. 19296/70. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C1] A catalytic adsorption agent consists of a carbonaceous adsorption agent impregnated with an aqueous or acid extract of a fuel oil slag. Preferably the impregnation gives the agent a V content of 1-5 wt. %. Absorption agents which may be impregnated are activated charcoals, semi-cokes of peat, brown arid mineral coal, and pre-oxidised mineral coal. After use in the catalytic adsorption of SO 2 from flue gases it is regenerated by heating at 400-600‹C.
