Abstract

1363275 Removing pollutants from water UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE 22 July 1971 [24 July 1970] 34493/71 Heading C1C Microorganisms (e.g. coliform) and other pollutants are removed from water by treatment with brown coal (including lignite) or brown coal char in a substantially unactivated form. The brown coal char may be regenerated after use by heating. The brown coal may be dried prior to use.
