Abstract

1,271,441. Band-pass filter circuits. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 29 April, 1969 [30 April, 1968], No. 21773/69. Heading H1W. The cavities of a twin-cavity U.H.F. bandpass filter are coupled reactively at both "live" and "earthy" ends, the variations of the couplings with frequency being such as to preserve the shape of band-pass response throughout the tuning range. The filters shown are of the half-wave type having inner conductors 5, 6 terminated by lumped inductances 9, 10 and tuning capacitances 7, 8 which may be in the form of varactor diodes (see Fig. 3). The "live" end coupling shown in Fig. 2 is capacitative and that shown in Fig. 3 inductive, the "earthy" end couplings being respectively a # circuit including a series resonant series branch 13, 14 and a T circuit including a parallel resonant shunt branch 19, 24. Thus, in both cases, the tuned circuits have couplings of opposite sign at their ends.
