Abstract

1,272,104. Filter networks. VERNITRON CORP. 19 May, 1969 [17 May, 1968], No. 25522/69. Heading H3U. A ladder filter section comprises two piezoelectric resonators, one in a shunt branch and the other in a series branch of the ladder, and a capacitive circuit separating the resonators, the capacitive circuit being a combination of capacitances connected as a pi, T or L network. A continuous range of selectivity responses can be obtained without changing the resonators, by changing the values of the capacitances. A major part of the Specification is devoted to synthesis and design and it is shown that a wide range of band-pass filters having different bandwidths and skirt ratios may be produced using only a few different types of resonator.
