Abstract
1,271,373. Protective systems. B & R RELAYS Ltd. 2 Feb., 1970 [6 Feb., 1969], No. 6455/69. Heading H2K. [Also in Division H1] An earth leakage protective arrangement comprises a core-balance transformer 26 having its secondary winding 34 connected across the cathode and control electrode of a controlled rectifier SCR1. A trip coil 44 of a circuitbreaker (see Division H1) is connected in series with the rectifier SCR1. This series circuit is connected across a full-wave rectifier bridge D1 ... D4 in parallel with a circuit comprising capacitors C1, C2 resistor R1 and diode D6, the latter circuit keeping the rectifier SCR1 conducting when the rectifier has been triggered and the rectified current falls to zero between successive half cycles. The arrangement may be used to protect single phase circuits of three or four-wire three-phase circuits.
