In a stapling device for sealing a staple around the gathered end of a tubular pack of flexible material, such as used, for instance, for sausage wrappings, a staple 3 is fed from a magazine (not shown), to one end of a channel 5, 6 in the device and is urged along the channel by a punch 4 to seal the gathered ends of two adjacent sausage wrappings as they are formed from a flexible tube placed on a sealing matrix 13 beneath a pivoted holding flap 1, the channel 5, 6 being divided axially, at 7, so that a channel portion 5 is located in a removable part 10 of a guide-plate 9, 10 and the complementary channel portion 6 is formed in a fixed part. The removable part 10 is located in the device by a recess 8, staple guide rail 15, and magazine bar mountings 14 and is securable thereto by means of quick-action clamping lever 12 and bar 11. The holding flap 1 carries a knife 16 which can be operated by manually depressing a button 17 in order to cut through the sealed tube between two sealing staples to provide individual sausages.
