Abstract

1,271,168. Fog lamps. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 11 Dec., 1970 [12 Dec., 1969], No. 58841/70. Heading F4R. The light beam producing assembly of bulb and bulbholder 2, reflector 1 and lens 3 of a vehicle lamp is locked in position in a lamp housing 4 by a locking device 8 at the back of the lamp, this locking device comprising a spring element 11 having two arms 12, 13, which engage in flanges 14, 15 on the bulbholder or reflector, the spring element being attached to the knob of the locking device which rotates it via a rivet through a boss passing through the lamp housing. The boss and the hole through which it passes have faces which limit the angular displacement of the locking device. The ends of the arms of the spring elements are preferably slightly curved transversely to their length, and are arranged to stand off from the inside of the housing wall. The knob of the locking device may have various configurations in various embodiments, such as an hexagonal head for a spanner or a slotted or bored head for reception of a lever. Locating members attached to the housing permit the beam producing assembly to be secured in the housing only in exactly defined positions.
