Locating subaqueous sounds. -A sound-receiver adapted for locating the direction of the sound consists of a microphone D inserted in a recess in a heavy plate A, the recess being covered by a diaphragm C and an obstruction H, which may be a disk, secured to, but spaced in front of, the diaphragm by distancepieces I. The disk H may be replaced by an obstruction shaped like an armour-piercing shell with the point outwards. Specification 126,691 is referred to.
