1,270,162. Impregnating cardboard and felt. O.F.I.C. OMNIUM FRANCAIS INDUSTRIEL ET COMMERCIAL. 19 June, 1969 [16 July, 1968], No. 31095/69. Heading D1L. Apparatus for impregnating cardboard and felt comprises a tank 1 with inclined vertical walls 3, 4 and two pairs of chains 5, 12 adapted to hold between them vertically sheets of material 37. The pairs of chains are driven by pinions 10 and 24 and otherwise supported on pinions 9, 17-22, and the chains of each pair are connected by spacers having springs which hold the sheets of material at spaced vertical intervals. Heating coils 31 are provided in the base and sides of the tank. Recycling of the treatment fluid may be carried out by means of a reservoir and pump. The speed of the chains can be varied depending on the thickness of the sheets of material and density of the treatment fluid.
