Abstract

1,270,014. Delay lines. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. 18 June, 1969 [18 July, 1968], No. 34248/68. Heading H1W. A delay line comprises a conductor 2 of sinuous form printed on one side of a substrate 1 (of e.g. glass-fibre reinforced epoxy resin) the other side of which bears a conductive coating. A stack 9 of such delay lines is formed by cutting strips off the edges of the substrates so that the width of the stack gradually increases and the tags 3 of the lines are all accessible. The delay lines are serially connected and each may be associated with an input amplifier 10 which is designed to compensate, for high-frequency attentuation in the corresponding line. The amplifiers 10 are mounted together with the stack 9 on a plug-in printed-circuit board 7.
