Abstract

1055202 Couplings; distribution boards C F TOMS 1 Sept 1965 [2 Sept 1964] 35882/64 Headings H1R R1P and 3WI A board for inter-connecting circuit components comprises a sheet of insulating material having bonded to one surface a repetitive pattern of isolated strips of conducting material as shown in Fig. 1 such that the pattern formed in successive columns is the same as that formed in the rows. The board is perforated by a multiplicity of holes which extend through the conducting strips, each strip having at least three holes in it. The repetitive pattern may be formed with pairs of parallel conductors forming each unit, or a single conductor Fig. 2 (not shown) or triple parallel strips Fig. 3 (not shown). Circuit components are mounted on the reverse side of the board and the component leads are passed through the holes and soldered in position. The end of a component lead or a separate wire may also be used to inter-connect separate strips Fig. 4 (not shown).
