Abstract

1,269,471. Anchored bolts. L. LAMENDIN. 31 Oct., 1969 [31 Oct., 1968; 17 Oct., 1969], No. 53523/69. Heading F2H. A rod 1 having a thread 2 at one end is anchored in a hole in a wall 4 by (i) inserting the rod in the hole such that its non-threaded end is surrounded by a resin-catalyst mass 6 preinserted into the hole, (ii) rotating the rod 1, by way of a nut 7 which is threaded on to the rod but limited in its axial movement relative thereto by a plate 8 attached to the nut, so as to mix the resin and catalyst and (iii) continuing rotation until the resin has a set by a predetermined amount whereat the plate 8 is sheared from the nut 7 and the nut 7 is tightened on to a bearing plate 3 supported on the rod 1 adjacent to the wall 4. The plate 8 may be welded or cemented to or integral with the nut 7. Alternatively, the plate 8, which may have a rectangular hole therethrough to receive a correspondingly shaped end portion (9), (Fig. 2, not shown), of the rod 1, may be attached by studs or screws to the nut and/or by co-operating recesses and projections on the plate and nut.
