Abstract

1,177,882. Anchor bolts. L. LAMENDIN. 18 Jan., 1968 [18 Jan., 1967; 15 June, 1967], No. 2728/68. Heading F2H. An anchor rod assembly for supporting the roof of a mine gallery comprises a rod 1, a support plate 13, a bush 6 and a cage 11 enclosing the bush 6, the rod having a reduced diameter portion 2 on which the bush is mounted and the bush 6 acting as a drawing die for elongating the reduced diameter portion. The ush 6 may be of steel, comprise one part which slotted axially or comprise a plurality of parts and the rod may be provided with ribs 3, 4, 5 and a threaded portion. Co-operating frusto-conical portions may be provided on the rod and bush (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), and movement of the bush 6 relative to the cage 11 may be limited by a flange 12 on the cage which may be provided with a frusto-conical bore.
