Abstract

1285699 Anchor bolts DOM HOLDINGS Ltd 16 Oct 1969 [29 Oct 1968] 51239/68 Heading F2H An anchor bolt 1 comprises a threaded end portion 2 and a waisted portion 3 loosely surrounded by an expandible, one-piece collar 7 having an axial slit, the waisted portion being defined by a shoulder 4, a cylindrical portion 5 and a portion 6 which tapers convergingly towards the threaded end portion. The collar 7 which may be provided with longitudinal slots may have an internal surface complementary to the surface of the waisted portion 3. In use, the waisted portion is moved axially relative to the collar 7 subsequent to the bolt being inserted in a bore in masonry. Such movement causes the collar 7 to expand radially outwardly into engagement with the bore in the masonry.
