Abstract

1434048 Anchor bolts UPAT-MAX LANGENSIEPEN KOMMANDIT GES 1 Aug 1973 [2 Aug 1972] 36616/73 Heading F2H An anchor bolt includes an expander member 4 mounted on or integral with a bolt shank 6, and at least two expansible sleeves 2, 3 surrounding the bolt shank in tandem, the expander member 4 engaging in one end 15 of one sleeve 3 and the sleeves engaging one within another at their adjacent ends, each of the interengaging surfaces on the expander member and the sleeves being part-conical with each male surface having a cone angle about 2 degrees greater than the associated female surface, and the expander member having a cylindrical extension 7 of diameter equal to or greater than the maximum diameter of its partconical surface. The part-conical surfaces may be non-circular in cross-section to resist relative rotation. A friction ring (5) (Fig. 1, not shown) on the part-conical surface of the expander member 4 delays the insertion of the expander 4 into the sleeve 3 until the other sleeve or sleeves has or have been expanded by the ends of the adjacent sleeve or sleeves. The sleeves may have longitudinal slots 20.
