Abstract

1,269,438. Magnetic switches. ULTRA ELECTRONICS Ltd. 29 Oct., 1970 [10 April, 1970], No. 17081/70. Heading H1N. A magnet 13 attached by a yoke 16 to a parachute webbing strap 15 influences a sealed magnetic reed contact unit so that when sufficient force is applied to the webbing the stitches 20 are ruptured or a pin 17 is sheared to move the magnet away from the contact unit 11 which may also be influenced by a fixed permanent magnet 12 which is mounted adjacent the contact unit 11 within the non-magnetic casing 14 of a personal radio direction beacon which is switched on by the contact unit 11 when the magnet 13 moves away therefrom.
