Abstract

1,269,343. Wollastonite refractories. RHEINISCHE KALKSTEINWERKE G.m.b.H. 8 Aug., 1969 [17 Aug., 1968; 12 Dec., 1968], No. 39797/69. Headings C1J and C1K. Ceramics are obtained by moulding and baking a ground glassy slag at least 80% consisting of CaO and SiO 2 in a molar ratio of 1 to 1. The slag is preferably obtained from phosphorus production and can be purified by removing the fraction below 0À2 mm. after water quenching. The coarse fraction can be reheated to above 700‹ C. It can be mixed with clay, kaolin, quartz and feldspar.
