Abstract

1415833 Screen-printing of ceramic designs STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERIES (HOLDINGS) Ltd 24 July 1972 [23 July 1971 14 Feb 1972] 34786/71 and 6727/72 Heading C1J [Also in Division B6] A shaped unfired article is decorated by applying a ceramic design material by direct screen printing before or after application of the glaze; the article is then either fired to the gloss state or fired to the biscuit state and subsequently glazed. The design material may include glaze-resist medium. The clay article may have a moisture content of 14-18% when the printing is effected; protruding parts are then fixed to the article and the moisture content reduced to 1% before firing.
