[Also in Division E2] A method of forming a shelf in a substantially flat plate-like support member 12 comprises forming two parallel shear cuts 17 in a substantially flat blank to form a web, forming a non- linear shear cut across the web, pressing the web outwardly of the remainder of the blank to form a shelf 16 and pressing a portion of the shelf adjacent each side of the non-linear shear cut outwardly of the remainder of the shelf to form a step 18 in the shelf.
