Abstract

1,269,307. Frying apparatus. K. HOLEN. Oct. 15, 1970, No. 49047/70. Heading A4D. Frying apparatus comprises two endless frying bands 1, 2 disposed one above the other and passing over rollers, the bands consisting of an impervious glass fibre webbing coated on both sides with P. T. F. E., the lower surface of each band being in direct contact with a heated base 7 having a plane central portion and upwardly curving edge portions 8 and 9, the foodstuffs being turned at the transition from one band to the band lying therebeneath. The foodstuff 13 is transported from left to right along band 1. As it passes over roller 4 it is turned and guided on to band 2 by baffle 14. When it reaches roller 5 it is guided by baffle 15 on to an endless band 16 running on rollers 17, 18. This band 16 is made of a porous material such as a metal web. During the travel on the band 16 the foodstuff is cooled, for example by means of jets of cold air. Superfluous fat can run from the foodstuff down into a tray 20. The heated base 7 comprises an electric heating element 10 which is insulated at 11. The bands 1, 2 are maintained in position by beads 12 on the curved portions 8, 9.
