Abstract

1,175,835. Embossing. DUNLOP CO. Ltd. 14 April, 1967 [16 April, 1966], No. 16762#67. Heading B6J. [Also in Division C3] An embossed surface skin is formed on a cellular material by applying the latter to a support member, which may be an endless metal belt having an embossing pattern thereon, and heating the belt to a temperature sufficient the cause fusion at the surface of the material with which it is in contact, the heat transferred being regulated to maintain the internal structure of the material, and cooling the cellular material and support member while they are still in contact to a temperature below the fusion temperature of the cellular material.
