Abstract

1,269,274. Foundation and ground-retaining walls; solution mining. HELD & FRANCKE BAU A.G. 10 June, 1969 [26 June, 1968], No. 29322/69. Headings E1F and E1H. A concrete foundation, or ground-retaining, wall 1 is strengthened by piles 2, 3, 4, lateral thrust being transmitted from each pile to the next by cement, or plastics, mortar 10 injected into a cavity in the intermediate ground. The cavity is formed by flushing away the ground with a liquid flowing between tubular lances 5, 6, which liquid may comprise hydrochloric acid. The liquid issues from apertures between rubber seals at 7, 8, the spoil and spent liquid being removed through the lance 6. The mortar is injected through the lance 5. The distance between the seals can be varied. Horizontal tie-rods (not shown) may interconnect the piles. (For Figure see next page)
