Abstract

1,269,264. Boots &c. M. W. DALEBOUT. 29 April, 1969 [2 May, 1968], No. 21777/69. Heading A3B. A ski-boot consists of a low cut boot part 10 and two side pieces 16, 18 which are pivoted to each other to form an ankle cuff and which can tilt about the transverse axis of the boot. The parts 10, 16, 18 are made of rigid material, e.g. glass fibre, plastics material or metal. The side pieces 16, 18 are hinged to each other at their heel ends and have interengaging pins 32 and holes 34 at their front ends and the ankle cuff assembly formed by the side pieces 16, 18 can rock about pins 56 on the boot part 10. The cuff is held in position by latches 48 which are fastened by cable 78 and buckle 80 and is biased to a predetermined position by a spring loaded rod in cylinder 20. The boot also has a separate foot shaped inner lining 22 of foam material which is formed by injecting foam forming material between inner and outer walls. The fit of the boot can be adjusted by flaps 24, 26 on the boot part 10 which are closed by a buckle 74, 76 and the tightness of the ankle cuff is adjusted by a strap 28 and buckle 38.
