Abstract
1,268,965. Milled coin separator. COIN ACCEPTORS Inc. 27 June, 1969 [28 March, 1969], No. 32593/69. Heading G4V. An assembly for separating milled coins from smooth edged coins comprises an adjustable support 12 carrying a body 20 through a pin-and-slot connection 23, 24. The body 20 has a finger 22 which engages the edge of a coin rolling or sliding down rail 27. A milled coin 40 engages finger 22 and the body 20 rotates clockwise whereby the coin is checked and deflected in the indicated direction by way of an adjustable deflector 44. An unmilled coin causes body 22 to rotate anticlockwise the coin hits deflector 32 and is rejected via rail 37. When the coin has passed, the body 22 returns to a rest position where part of its face 25 rests on a first abutment 18. Its clockwise rotation is limited by a second abutment 19 and its anticlockwise rotation by the abutment 18 and the lower portion of slot 24.
